We are looking to Charleston County residents to answer some very important questions about a future county park on the Ashley River, near the intersection of I-26 and Highway 7 in North Charleston. Your comments will help the design team evaluate your desires, needs, and concerns for this park.
Locally known as the site of the former Baker Hospital, the property is located just south of Cosgrove Avenue, and west of I-26 on the Ashley River – a unique location in the center of the Peninsula, south of I-526. The property was purchased by CCPRC from Ashley II of Charleston, LLC. The sale was facilitated by local and Atlanta-based real estate teams with funding support from Charleston residents Michael and Jenny Messner and Michael’s business partner Paul Shiverick and his wife Betsy.
A June 30 public meeting marked the start of the development for a master plan for the Baker site. Proposed features for the site will become established during the master planning process as CCPRC continues to work with the community and other partners to design and develop the park.
Thanks in advance for your participation!!
