Summer Camp Scholarships

Summer Camp scholarships for select camps are offered through the Charleston County Parks Foundation, the nonprofit partner of the Charleston County Park & Recreation Commission. Scholarships create opportunity for children who need financial assistance to attend our camps. A limited number of scholarships are available; submitting an application does not guarantee you will receive a scholarship.

Eligibility

Annual household income level must be at or below 150% of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Poverty Guidelines.

  • 1 person household - $23,475
  • 2 person household - $31,725
  • 3 person household - $39,975
  • 4 person household - $48,225
  • 5 person household - $56,475
  • 6 person household - $64,725
  • 7 person household - $72,975
  • 8 person household - $81,225
  • 9 person household - $89,475
  • 10 person household - $97,725

Discovery & Voyager Camps

Offered in Baptist Hill, Johns Island, and McClellanville

Scholarship applications open March 1 and will be received until sessions are filled. Based on session availability, each applicant will be awarded up to two camp sessions. Scholarship applicants will be notified the week their application is received.


Explorers, Adventure, Adventure Bound, Teen Venture, Teen Expedition & Junior Lifeguard Camps

Offered at James Island, Palmetto Islands, Wannamaker, Folly Beach, and Isle of Palms County Parks

Applications are open March 1 - 31, 2026. Based on session availability, each applicant will be awarded one camp session. Scholarship applicants will be notified mid-April.
