The Challenge Course

The Challenge Course at James Island County Park offers adventure-based learning opportunities for those who want to discover more about themselves,inspire others, and grow as an individual or as a team. The course offers a variety of group initiatives, low elements, and high elements designed to encourage your group to work together to solve problems. All challenges are designed to meet the goals and objectives of those who accept the challenge!

Static High Elements

With ten elements, including an Entrance Cargo Net and Zip Line, the High Course challenges participant’s comfort zones to move beyond perceived limitations. Selection of elements will ensure the high course is tailored to meet your group’s goals. This powerful learning tool encourages groups to create a supportive environment where individuals can explore the concepts of trust, personal responsibility, stress management, self-confidence, and personal and group empowerment. Dynamic High Elements

Our dynamic elements are stand-alone individual and/or partner challenges with your group serving on your top-rope team belay. Challenges encourage individuals to push the growth zones and encourage others by supporting them as they reach their goals. Dynamic High Elements we currently offer include the Leap of Faith, Giant’s Ladder, Catwalk, Rappel, and Crate Climbs. All elements can be tailored to meet your group’s goals. Low Elements Teambuilding

Through the use of a variety of activities that are on the ground or just a few feet off the ground, your group will work through challenges that address their individual goals and needs. With careful, deliberate processing of each experience, groups have the opportunity to evaluate all aspects of their performance and hone their skills as the day progresses.
