Inclusive Recreation
Physical fitness should be a part of life for everyone, and we want to provide all residents of the community with that opportunity. Throughout the year, we offer recreation programs for people with cognitive and physical disabilities that expand their access to opportunities that promote physical fitness, health and wellness, increased self-esteem, and greater independence.

Nature & History
Throughout the year, a wide variety of fascinating natural, environmental, historical, and cultural programs and activities are offered at your Charleston County Parks. Our staff of professional naturalists and historical educators lead year-round programs, from bird walks to coastal exploration to the discussion of the Lowcountry from a historical perspective. Our professional naturalists and historical educators can also arrange an adventure especially for your organized group. Your guide knows the park’s natural and historical resources extremely well and is specially trained to deliver programs in an outdoor environment.

Outdoor Adventure
Our Outdoor Adventure Program provides a wide range of non-traditional outdoor adventure recreation, through which participants learn about themselves and the natural world around them. Whether you’re seeking serious relaxation and recreation, or looking for professional skill development, you can be assured that our programs are conducted with safety and fun in mind. Join us for your next kayaking, canoeing, climbing, hiking, or biking adventure!

The Challenge Course
The Challenge Course at James Island County Park offers adventure-based learning opportunities for those who want to discover more about themselves,inspire others, and grow as an individual or as a team. The course offers a variety of group initiatives, low elements, and high elements designed to encourage your group to work together to solve problems. All challenges are designed to meet the goals and objectives of those who accept the challenge!

What could be better than spending your days exploring your county parks, learning about the natural world, and having some really cool fun at one of our youth or camp programs?

Waivers & Refund/Cancellation Policy
For programs, events, and facilities that require a hold harmless waiver, each registered customer must have an individual waiver on file per calendar year. The waiver expires on December 31 of each year.
