Isle of Palms County Park

The Charleston County Park & Recreation Commission invites people with disabilities to experience our programs, services, trails and facilities to discover how our 11,000+ acres of parkland can enrich their lives. We strive to go beyond compliance with the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) to provide opportunities for recreation, physical and emotional well-being, and peaceful respite.

IOP Waymaker Offroad WheelchairIn addition to the standard beach wheelchairs, an off-road wheelchair is available for reservation thanks to the generosity of Waymaker Offroad Wheelchairs. Based in Hartsville, SC, Waymaker Offroad Wheelchairs is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping people with mobility impairments enjoy outdoor experiences with independence.

Reserve a Waymaker Offroad Wheelchair

Visit the Waymaker Offroad Wheelchairs website to reserve the chair. When you arrive at the park, just let the gatekeeper know you have a reservation confirmation.

Reservations do not include park admission. Please be aware that beach parking may reach capacity on weekends and holidays during the peak season. Make sure to arrive early in the day, if possible, to ensure you can gain entry to the park, especially if you have reserved the chair ahead of time.
