Two new picnic shelters are being constructed at Isle of Palms County Park to provide larger eating areas and additional shade. During construction, the park will have one existing picnic shelter available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Due to limited parking, visitors are encouraged to arrive early or after 5 p.m., carpool when possible, and expect delays when entering and exiting the park. Parking for buses, RVs, and/or campers is never guaranteed, even on weekdays. Due to limited turning radius during our busy periods, we are unable to accommodate any bus traffic on weekends, April 1 - Labor Day.
Isle of Palms County Park was developed by the Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission in 1996 in response to public demand for improved beach access in the East Cooper area. The park is operated for the enjoyment of the citizens and visitors of Charleston County. Isle of Palms County Park offers beautiful ocean frontage with lifeguards on duty seasonally along a beachfront designated swimming area. Dogs must be leashed at all times.
*No soap or shampoo, please.
**In accordance with a City of Isle of Palms ordinance, beach rental equipment must be picked up and paid for at the retail area and returned there after use. Photo ID is required for beach and wheelchair rentals. Park fees, operating schedules, and hours are subject to change without notice.
