[JAMES ISLAND] – The Reggae Nights Concert Series kicks off early this year with a premiere concert in April! The Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission (CCPRC) will kick off the first concert of the series on Friday, April 17 at James Island County Park. Gates open at 7:30 p.m. and music by Black Lion begins at 8:30 p.m.

The Reggae Nights Concert Series is generally held during the summer months, but this year a springtime concert will kick off the park’s East Coast Paddlesports and Outdoor Festival (ECPOF). Held at James Island County Park, the festival offers paddling and outdoor adventure activities and many other festivities throughout the weekend. Attendees to the Friday night concert are invited to return to enjoy the festivities at ECPOF throughout the weekend.

For the perfect ending to a long week, bring your chair or blanket, kick back, and relax to an awesome outdoor reggae concert in the beautiful setting of James Island County Park. All ages are invited. Hungry concert-goers can purchase Caribbean-style dishes and festival foods on site at the event. Crafters and other vendors will be on site displaying crafts and souvenirs available for purchase. Advance tickets are not available; admission is $10 per person at the gate. Gold Pass holders and kids 12 and under are free.

Additional reggae concerts will take place on Fridays throughout the summer at James Island County Park. No outside alcohol or coolers are permitted into the event. James Island County Park is located at 871 Riverland Drive.
