And the winner is……

The Charleston County Park & Recreation Commission concluded its 25th anniversary celebration of the Holiday Festival of Lights with the announcement of the winner of the Carnival
Cruise Line Sweepstakes. One lucky winner had the opportunity to win a five-day Carnival Cruise through Travel Leaders of Charleston, and bring three travel companions along to set sail in the luxury comforts of an ocean-view stateroom.

Tom O’Rourke, executive director of Charleston County Parks, said he wanted the agency to give back to the community in a big way this holiday season in celebration of the 25 years of loyal patronage to the Holiday Festival of Lights.

Jama Richeson, a 23-year-old College of Charleston student, was selected as the winner through a random drawing. In a conversation, Richeson mentioned how she had concerns about being able to afford to go away for spring break, and now she is thrilled to take an exciting cruise to the Caribbean with friends. Before her trip, she was invited to tour the Carnival Fantasy ship docked at the port in Charleston and enjoy a three-course lunch on board the ship.

Congratulations Jama and happy sailing!
