The Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission (CCPRC) has been offering Stand Up Paddleboarding programs in the county parks since 2010. Stand Up Paddleboard-focused programming ranges from beginner-level introductory SUP classes, all the way to advanced level classes along with SUP races at James Island County Park. One of the races will actually be the site of the sweepstakes winner announcement. CCPRC also offers a variety of programming in kayaking, canoeing, and many other outdoor recreational activities.

"We are excited to be able to offer a contest that highlights the fun and fitness aspects of this fast growing sport,” said John Radel, CCPRC’s paddlesports coordinator. “Our goal is to gain awareness and excitement about the SUP racing community as well as the many family-friendly, affordable paddling programs available to the public in the county parks.”

The sweepstakes winner will be announced later this summer. All sweepstakes rules and regulations will be available at For more information on CCPRC’s paddlesports programs, call 843-795-4386 or visit
