Charleston County Parks giving away Deluxe Stand Up Paddleboard Package
[CHARLESTON COUNTY, June 23, 2014] – The Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission invites paddle sports enthusiasts to register to win a deluxe Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) package! The contest is open from June 23 through July 21, 2014. The grand prize will be a Soulr Glidr Bamboo Paddleboard package that includes a paddleboard, deck pad, fins and paddle valued at $1200.
There is no commitment or purchase required to enter to win. Legal residents 18 years old or older from Charleston, Dorchester, Berkeley and Colleton Counties are eligible to enter up to three entries per person/email address per day. The Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission (CCPRC) has been offering Stand Up Paddleboarding programs in the county parks since 2010. Stand Up Paddleboard-focused programming ranges from beginner-level introductory SUP classes, all the way to advanced level classes along with SUP races at James Island County Park. One of the races will actually be the site of the sweepstakes winner announcement. CCPRC also offers a variety of programming in kayaking, canoeing, and many other outdoor recreational activities.
"We are excited to be able to offer a contest that highlights the fun and fitness aspects of this fast growing sport,” said John Radel, CCPRC’s paddlesports coordinator. “Our goal is to gain awareness and excitement about the SUP racing community as well as the many family-friendly, affordable paddling programs available to the public in the county parks.”
