Pick up man’s best friend after work and join the fun at events held in May especially for dog owners! Charleston County Parks’ popular Yappy Hour and Pups, Yups and Food Trucks series, both held on select Thursday evenings, returns this summer.

Yappy Hour features live music and beverages for sale, directly in the off-leash dog park at James Island County Park. Yappy Hour kicks off on May 29 (rescheduled from May 15 due to inclement weather) with a performance by the Soul Fish Duo.

Pups, Yups and Food Trucks offers on-site food trucks and live music in the meadow at Palmetto Islands County Park in Mount Pleasant, just adjacent to the dog park. Pups, Yups and Food Trucks will debut May 22 with the Cast Iron Food Truck and live music by family favorite Dave Landeo, from 5 - 8 p.m. Best of all, the event is free with your park admission!

You and your dog can mingle with friends old and new, while enjoying a festival-like atmosphere in the park. Both events are free with general park admission ($1 per person or free with Charleston County Parks’ Gold Pass)! Beverages and food are available for an additional fee.
