We are joining forces with the City of Goose Creek to develop improved trailhead facilities for the Wannamaker North Trail, as well as a future municipal park for the City of Goose Creek. Phase I of the proposed master plan is to develop a 60-space parking lot to be shared between the two facilities, with the proposed location being in a highly visible area adjacent to Westview Blvd. Phase I would also include the construction of an approximately 1000' segment of Hiker/Biker Trail extending to the bridge on Westview Blvd. (near the paved Crowfield trail). The new trailhead and municipal park facility would ultimately connect to existing Hiker/Biker Trail infrastructure near Westview Elementary School.
CCPRC and the City of Goose Creek are partnering to apply for a Recreational Trails Program (RTP) grant to fund Phase I as described above. A public hearing will be held this Wednesday at 5:00 at Goose Creek City Hall. CCPRC and the City will have their joint master plan for the facilities on display. CCPRC will also be on-hand to discuss their conceptual plan for the Wannamaker North Trail network.
