[ARCHIVED] CCPRC’s Josh Hall Awarded for Excellence in Instruction

Joshua Hall of the Charleston County Park & Recreation Commission (CCPRC) was announced on Nov. 3 as the 2012 recipient of the prestigious American Canoe Association’s (ACA) Excellence in Instruction Award. Hall was honored at the ACA Awards Ceremony & Banquet, which was held at the Tides Folly Beach hotel in conjunction with the National Paddlesports Conference & SUP Summit.

Each year, the ACA recognizes a select group of individuals and organizations who have illustrated exemplary leadership, service, and dedication to paddlesports. Josh Hall serves CCPRC as Outdoor Recreation Program Manager, is chair of the ACA’s Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) Discipline Committee, and is a member of the Safety Education & Instruction Council. According to the ACA, Hall’s educational and instructional contributions to the association and paddlesports as a whole have been exemplary. In addition to developing the curriculum, Hall has taught a significant number of skills courses and instructor certification courses for both coastal kayaking and stand up paddleboarding, and served as mentor for Instructor Trainers nationwide.
