[ARCHIVED] Protect your Skin, Protect your Health

Protect your skin, protect your health

[CHARLESTON] -- Your Charleston County Parks have partnered with MUSC to spread the word about skin safety. We encourage you to protect your health by protecting your skin from harmful UV rays. Dermatologists on the MUSC Mobile Health Unit – a fully-equipped doctor’s office on wheels – will offer free skin cancer screenings at your Charleston County Parks this summer.

• Saturday, August 11
Splash Zone Waterpark at James Island County Park
9a.m. – 12 p.m.

While you are out enjoying the day at your county parks, take the basic steps to protect your skin. And, stop by the MUSC Mobile Health Unit for a skin cancer screening, free of charge. No appointments necessary. First come, first serve.

The Mobile Health Unit will also be stationed at the Isle of Palms front beach area from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. on Saturday, July 14. For more information about free skin cancer screenings, call MUSC Health Connection at (843) 792-1414.
