If you enjoy triathlons, here’s one with a few twists! The Folly Beach Challenge, Sunday, October 17, is the perfect alternative to the traditional triathlon. And, this year’s event expands to two days to include optional kayak and Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) races on Saturday, October 16!
The Folly Beach Challenge is a nontraditional triathlon that features a 3-mile paddle up the Folly River, an 8.5-mile beach bike ride and a 3-mile beach run, all starting from Folly Beach County Park. Participants can compete individually or as one leg of a three-person team. Along with the Folly Beach Challenge triathlon on Sunday, this year’s event also offers your choice of a kayak or SUP race on Saturday, October 16! Participants can take part in one or both days’ races, and grand prix awards will be given for the lowest combined times for both days’ races.
