[JOHNS ISLAND] – Charleston County Parks invites runners and walkers of all experience levels to hit the trails at the 9th annual Mullet Haul Trail Run. The race features a 5K and a 10K on the trails of scenic Mullet Hall Equestrian Center at Johns Island County Park.
Both the 5K and 10K races will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 27. Afterward, awards will be presented for the top runners. All participants are invited to relax and hang out at their leisure while enjoying post race food and cold beverages.
"Just thinking about this race brings back memories of smiles, hugs and high fives as participants cross the finish. Athletes, first timers and families with children in tow celebrate with equal an unequivocal exuberance." said Charleston County Parks’ Health & Wellness Race, Event and Program Manager Allison Foster.
Registration for the Mullet Haul Trail Run is open now through April 25. Late registration and packet pickup will be available on site on race day from 7 – 8 a.m.
The Mullet Haul is for ages 10 and older. Participants ages 10-15 must be accompanied by an adult. Dogs and strollers are not allowed at this event. Pre-registration fees to run the 5K portion of the event are $32; to run the 10K trail is $36.
Johns Island County Park is located at 2662 Mullet Hall Road (off of River Road) on Johns Island. In addition to its equestrian center, beautiful Johns Island County Park offers pristine scenery featuring miles of trails winding through southern pines and moss-draped oaks, alongside open meadows and farm fields. The park also features an archery range and a 3-D archery course. Johns Island County Park is open for regular visitors daily.
