[JAMES ISLAND] – Due to projected weather, the Reggae Nights concert originally scheduled for Friday, July 20 has been rescheduled for Friday, Aug. 24. The Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission (CCPRC) will host Amani Smith and the Give Thanks Band at James Island County Park.
Gates open at 7:30 p.m. and music by Amani Smith and the Give Thanks Band begins at 8:30 p.m. Event gates will close to incoming traffic at 10:30 p.m. and the event will end at 11 p.m.
Amani Smith and the Give Thanks Band is based out of Wilmington, NC. Amani Smith has been playing guitar, singing and writing songs for more than three decades, and has performed with a variety of international legendary artists. Although just releasing his first solo album in April, Amani Smith, backed by the Give Thanks Band, gives a legendary performance that brings the best in reggae music.
Reggae Nights Summer Concert Series is open to all ages. Attendees are encouraged to come out with a chair or blanket and relax during an outdoor show at James Island County Park. Food is available on site. Crafters and vendors will also be on site with souvenirs available for purchase. Advance tickets are not available, and admission is $10 per person at the gate. Gold Pass holders and kids 12 and under are free. Concerts will take place rain or shine.
