[ARCHIVED] Reggae Nights Summer Concert Series kicks off June 1 at James Island County Park

[JAMES ISLAND] – Get a taste of Jamaica with the kickoff of the Reggae Nights Summer Concert Series on Friday, June 1. The Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission (CCPRC) will host Ras Bonghi Reggae All Stars in the first performance of the series, on Friday, June 1 at James Island County Park.

Gates open at 7:30 p.m. and music by Ras Bonghi Reggae All Stars begins at 8:30 p.m. Event gates will close to incoming traffic at 10:30 p.m. and the event will end at 11 p.m.

The Ras Bonghi Reggae All Stars are known as one of the foremost reggae bands of the Southeast. Formed in Ohio in 1987, the band has included members from all over the world and opened for some of the biggest bands in music. This multicultural band is known for its unique sound and distinctive style.

Reggae Nights Summer Concert Series is open to all ages. Attendees are encouraged to come out with a chair or blanket and relax during an outdoor show at James Island County Park. Food is available on site. Crafters and vendors will also be on site with souvenirs available for purchase. Advance tickets are not available, and admission is $10 per person at the gate. Gold pass holders and kids 12 and under are free. Concerts will take place rain or shine.

June 22 with NDKA

July 20 with Amani Smith and the Give Thanks Band

August 3 with Mystic Vibrations
