[MOUNT PLEASANT] – People of all fitness levels are invited to experience a unique outdoor evening yoga program on the Mount Pleasant Pier. The popular Starlight Yoga series kicks off 2018 on Thursday, April 5.
Located at the foot of the Ravenel Bridge, the Mount Pleasant Pier stretches 1250 feet into Charleston Harbor and offers unparalleled views. The flowing yoga program begins at 7:30 p.m. on the 8100-square-foot pavilion at the end of the pier, with the glow of the Ravenel Bridge and the sights and sounds of the beautiful harbor providing a scenic backdrop.
Starlight Yoga on April 5 will be instructed by local yogi and wellness enthusiast Ji Hwang. Ji’s approach to teaching stems from the belief that yoga is for everyone and her classes focus on alignment and anatomy using clear, accessible instruction. She safely guides and challenges her students through creative and fun yoga sequences.
Starlight Yoga is open to all fitness levels, and interested participants are encouaged to sign up for the April 5 program by March 5 to get a special glow-in-the-dark prize. Online registration will end April 5 at 2 p.m.; event-day registration is available on site if space allows. A rain date is reserved for April 12. Participants are encouraged to bring their own yoga mat or beach towel.
Starlight Yoga is held at several Charleston County Parks locations throughout the year and is led by local yoga instructors. Other upcoming Starlight Yoga programs will be held on the evenings of:
- June 7 at Folly Beach County Park
- Sept. 13 at the Mount Pleasant Pier
- Nov. 28 during the Holiday Festival of Lights at James Island County Park
