Your Charleston County Parks is applying for the S.C. Recreational Trails Program Grant for an access and amenities project at the future Stono River County Park, located on McLeod Mill Rd. near the western terminus of the West Ashley Greenway. The S.C. Recreational Trails Program is a federal-aid assistance program designed to help states provide and maintain recreational trails for both motorized and non-motorized recreational trail use. The grant is an 80-20-match program funded by the Federal Highway Administration and administered by the South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation & Tourism.
Upon completion, this phase of the project will include a paved, ADA accessible trail, trailhead, parking, and restroom.
The public is invited to attend a meeting for the purpose of discussing pending plans and receiving public input for the Stono River County Park Access and Amenities Project at the future Stono River County Park. The Public Meeting will be held, Monday, February 26, 2018, at 5:15 PM, at CCPRC’s Headquarters building, 861 Riverland Drive, Charleston, SC 29412.
