The Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission’s (CCPRC) Reggae Nights Summer Concert Series continues on July 21 at James Island County Parks with Jah Works. Gates open at 7:30 p.m and the music will begin at 8:30 p.m. All gates will close to incoming traffic at 10:30 and the concert will end at 11 p.m.
Jah Works, a Baltimore-based reggae band, has been creating music for over 20 years. Their sound comes from the roots of Jamaican music and culture, mixing rock steady, reggae, and elements of dancehall and dub. Reggae fans unfamiliar with the band are in for a musical treat of positive vibes and uncompromising roots rock reggae music.
Bring a chair or blanket for a relaxing end to the work week with an outdoor reggae concert in the beautiful James Island County Park. Food and drinks will be available for purchase, and vendors will be on site with souvenirs to help concert-goers remember this great event. Admission is $10 per person at the gate; advanced tickets are not available. Gold Pass members and children 12 and under get in free.
James Island County Park will host the final event in the 2017 Reggae Nights Summer Concert Series on Aug. 4 with Mystic Vibrations.
No outside alcohol or coolers are permitted into the event. James Island County Park is located at 871 Riverland Drive.
