[JOHNS ISLAND, SC] – Johns Island County Park proudly opened a new outdoor archery range on Feb. 14. The range is now open daily to the public for archery.

Featuring six targets ranging from 10 yards to 50 yards in distance, the range is accessible from the second park entrance on Mullet Hall Road. The path to the archery range is marked with a sign. The range will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony, open to the public, on March 5 beginning at 2 p.m. as part of Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission’s (CCPRC) Customer Appreciation Day. Admission to the park will be free March 5; Charleston Collegiate will offer demonstrations and equipment will be provided for guests to try out the range that day.

Johns Island County Park is located at 2662 Mullet Hall Road (off of River Road) on Johns Island and is also the site of Mullet Hall Equestrian Center.

The range will be open seven days a week, from sunrise to sunset, and access to the range will be $1 per person or free with the CCPRC Gold Pass. Participants must provide their own equipment. Broadheads will not be permitted; field tips only can be used at the Johns Island County Parks archery range. Parking is available at the trail head entrance, which is the second left on Mullet Hall Road when coming from River Road.

CCPRC also offers youth archery classes and clubs at other county park locations. For more information or to register, visit CharlestonCountyParks.com.
