Your Charleston County Parks is applying for the S.C. Recreational Trails Program Grant for a marsh boardwalks project at Palmetto Islands County Park. The SC Recreational Trails Program is a federal-aid assistance program designed to help states provide and maintain recreational trails for both motorized and non-motorized recreational trail use. The grant is an 80-20-match program funded by the Federal Highway Administration and administered by SC Parks, Recreation & Tourism Commission.
Upon completion, the replacement boardwalks will connect to existing trails at Palmetto Islands County Park. The new boardwalks will be ADA-compliant and built with sustainable materials.
The public is invited to attend a meeting for the purpose of discussing pending plans and receiving public input for the Palmetto Islands County Park Marsh Boardwalks Project at Palmetto Islands County Park. The Public Meeting will be held, Monday, February 22, 2016, at 5:15 PM, at CCPRC’s Headquarters building, 861 Riverland Drive, Charleston, SC 29412.
