The outdoor recreation complex located at Haut Gap Middle School serves as a hub of activity for local citizens. Developed through a cooperative effort with the Charleston County School District, this facility is able to offer a full range of recreation programs that benefit this school, local athletic leagues and the community at large. The Recreation Commission uses these facilities and others on Johns Island to provide recreation, sports, and leisure experiences the entire family will enjoy. Outdoor amenities include a basketball court, disc golf course, multi-purpose ball fields, paved walking trail, picnic shelter, playground, tennis courts, and a volleyball court. The RD Schroder Community Center serves as a hub of activity for citizens in the communities of Edisto Island, Adams Run, Meggett, Hollywoood and Ravenel. The Recreation Commission uses this facility and tennis courts located at Baptist Hill High School to provide recreation, sports and leisure experiences the entire family will enjoy. Amenities include multi-purpose outdoor athletic fields, gymnasium, activity rooms, fitness area, tennis court, picnic area, and walking trail. Hours Indoor Facilities: 1-7 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday. Closed Friday and Sunday. Outdoor Facilities: sunrise to sunset daily
