(JAMES ISLAND) – Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission (CCPRC) will host its annual Youth Triathlon on Saturday, July 26, 2026, at James Island County Park.

 

Designed for young athletes ages 7-15, the event offers participants the opportunity to experience the excitement of triathlon racing in a safe, supportive, and well-monitored environment.

 

Registration is $55 per person. Registration ends Wednesday, July 22. There will be no on-site registration. Click here or visit CharlestonCountyParks.com to register.

 

Event Details

  • Race starts at 7:15 a.m.
  • Packet pick-up will take place onsite from 6-7 a.m. on race day
  • Ages 7-10 will complete a 100-yard swim, 2-mile bike, and a 1-mile run
  • Ages 11-15 will complete a 200-yard swim, 4-mile bike, and a 2-mile run
  • Awards ceremony will be held on site after the race to recognize top finishers in each age division
  • Bibs and helmets are required for all participants
  • Water stations will be available along the course
  • Emergency bike repair assistance will be available onsite
  • All participants will receive free entry to Splash Zone (James Island County Park’s waterpark) on the day of the race

 

An optional Youth Tri Swim Clinic will also be available on the Youth Triathlon swim course Monday, July 20 for an additional fee (link).
