Statewide Burn Ban in Effect

Statewide Burn Ban in Effect

A statewide burning ban is in effect due to dangerous wildfire conditions. All outdoor burning is prohibited within all parks and facilities until the ban is lifted. This includes campfires, fire rings and grills.

Folly Beach County Park Accessibility

The Charleston County Park & Recreation Commission invites people with disabilities to experience our programs, services, trails and facilities to discover how our 11,000+ acres of parkland can enrich their lives. We strive to go beyond compliance with the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) to provide opportunities for recreation, physical and emotional well-being, and peaceful respite.

At Folly Beach County Park, you'll find these accessibility highlights:

  • Accessible parking
  • Accessible route to natural sand beach
  • Accessible ramp to park office at Dunes House
  • Accessible restrooms and water fountains
  • Accessible outdoor changing rooms
  • Accessible picnic tables at Dunes House
  • Standard beach wheelchairs available for check-out at park office on a first-come, first-served basis.
Reserve a Waymaker Offroad Wheelchair

During much of our busy seasons of late spring and summer, an off-road wheelchair is available for reservation thanks to the generosity of Waymaker Offroad Wheelchairs. Based in Hartsville, SC, this nonprofit is dedicated to helping individuals with mobility impairments explore the outdoors with greater independence.

To reserve the chair, visit the Waymaker Offroad Wheelchairs website during the spring and summer seasons and complete your booking. Then bring your confirmation email to the park office to pick up the chair. Please note that park admission is not included with your reservation.
