[WEST ASHLEY] – The Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission (CCPRC) is excited to bring back a popular event to the new Old Towne Creek County Park – Wine Down Wednesday!

 

Held on Wednesday evenings, Aug. 26 (sold out), Sept. 9 and Sept. 23, Wine Down Wednesday offers the opportunity to take in the beauty of the newly opened Old Towne Creek County Park while enjoying live music and beverages, from 5 – 7 p.m. Participants can take in breathtaking marsh views, stroll trails beneath majestic oaks, and sip on a curated selection of wines, making for the perfect mid-week escape.

 

Event tickets are available now at CharlestonCountyParks.com (direct link); advance registration is encouraged as these events are expected to sell out. Advance tickets are $20 per person or $25 day-of, if not sold out. Wine is included in the event price. Each Wine Down Wednesday will feature live music from a local musician, as well as food truck fare available for purchase.

Located at 1400 Old Towne Road in West Ashley, the 67-acre park offers the community the opportunity to enjoy recreation and beautiful open spaces, featuring accessible trails and boardwalks, scenic marsh views, a nature-inspired playground, and opportunities to learn about the site’s history and ecology. The park officially opened to the public on June 30, 2026. Educational programming will also be offered at the site throughout the year.

 

Guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs or tables. Outside alcohol is prohibited at this event, but guests are permitted to bring their own food. A valid ID will be required to be served alcohol. Guests who will not be consuming alcohol may attend at no charge. Dogs are welcome, but must remain leashed at all times.
