As the azaleas begin to bloom and the weather turns warm, there’s no better place to be than your Charleston County Parks. Whether you’re looking for a thrill, a peaceful moment in nature, or a festive gathering, our calendar of programs and events has something for everyone.

Festivals & Events

Don’t miss Dancing on the Cooper at the Mount Pleasant Pier starting April 24, and the return of Moonlight Mixers on the Folly Beach Pier starting May 1.

We’re bringing Louisiana to the Lowcountry on April 18 with the Lowcountry Cajun Festival. Zydeco music, delicious Cajun fare, and an all around ragin’ Cajun good time will be had by all.

If laid-back gatherings with good company, live music, and a tasty beverage are more your speed, check out Toast Under the Oaks at Johns Island County Park on March 12 and April 2 and Birds of a Feather at Caw Caw Interpretive Center on March 21.

Calling all superheroes! People with disabilities and their families are invited to save the day at the Inclusive Superhero Dance Party on May 6 at the Cooper River Room in Mount Pleasant.

Nature, Wellness, and Outdoor Adventures

Join us for an Intro to Archery or Family Archery class. Seniors can also enjoy a specialized two-week archery series.

The climbing wall at James Island County Park is buzzing this spring. We offer Beginner Nights for adults, Belay Basics, and even Adaptive Climbing Days for both youth and adults.

Get your Om on. Practice your flow under the stars with Starlight Yoga on the Mount Pleasant Pier. For early risers, try Sunrise Yoga.

From beginner birding to long beach bird walks, our naturalists will guide you through the diverse habitats that our feathered friends call home.
