Weather is a changin' and the bait are a runnin'!! In other words... it's prime pier fishing time. We've seen everything from mackerel to drum being caught this month. With plenty of bait following the pier, it's been fairly easy to cast a net over some finger mullet or a school of menhaden if your lucky. The drum continue to run south from inlet to inlet and the mackerel are chasing the bait fish with the clean water conditions. In the shallows the whiting and blues have proved to be plentiful with shrimp being the most consistent bait.
