James Island County Park’s Reggae Concert Series Kicks off June 9
CHARLESTON – The Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission will kick off the first Reggae Nights concert of its Summer Concert Series on Saturday, June 9 at James Island County Park. Gates open at 8:00 p.m. and music by Jahson and The Natty Vibes begins at 8:30 p.m.
For the perfect cool ending to a hot summer day, bring your chair or blanket, kick back, and relax to an outdoor reggae concert in the beautiful outdoor setting of your county parks. All ages are invited and children 12 and under, as well as Gold Pass holders, enjoy free admission to all events in the concert series. Hungry concert-goers can purchase Caribbean-style dishes, pizza and other festival foods at the event. Crafters and other vendors will be on site displaying local handmade crafts and souvenirs available for purchase.
Additional reggae concerts will take place throughout the summer at James Island County Park. The 2012 Reggae Concert Series schedule is:
• June 9: Jahson & The Natty Vibes
• June 30: Da'Gullah Rootz
• July 21: Mystic Vibrations
• August 18: ReggaeInfinity
Tickets can be purchased at the gate. Tickets are $8 for adults (13 and up); children 12 and under are free. Annual Gold Passes will be honored. Please, no outside alcohol or coolers. James Island County Park is located at 871 Riverland Drive.
