Charleston, dust off your dancing shoes and get ready for summer – Shaggin’ on the Cooper and the Moonlight Mixers are back! Charleston County Parks’ dance event series is kicking off this month, with the season’s first Moonlight Mixer event taking place on April 20 at the Folly Beach Fishing Pier. Then, the popular “Shaggin’ on the Cooper” live music series begins April 28 at the Mount Pleasant Pier.
Celebrate the arrival of warmer weather with some dancing on the water at the Mount Pleasant Pier and the Folly Beach Fishing Pier. Live music will fill the air at the Mount Pleasant Pier with local bands performing throughout the season at Shaggin’ on the Cooper (schedule below). At the Folly Beach Fishing Pier’s Moonlight Mixers, DJ Jim Bowers will keep your feet moving with the hottest oldies and beach music. Gates open at 7 p.m. for both events, and tickets are $10 per person ($8 for Charleston County residents). Tickets are limited, so advance purchase is recommended. Food, beverage or parking fees are not included in ticket price.
All ages are invited to let loose, breathe in the ocean breeze and dance the night away under the stars. Bring a date or meet friends - a good time is sure to be had by all. Food and beverages will be available for purchase on-site at each of the piers.
