The poetry series features fellows of the Cave Canem poetery foundation, whose work explores themes associated with the black expereince in America.
Len Lawson's book, 'Before the Night Wakes You,' is lauded for candid explorations of race relations. He is co-founder of the Poets Respond to Race initiative and co-editor of its first anthology, 'Hand in Hand: Poets Respond to Race.'
