Black History All Year Long: Focus on Women

Thursday, August 19, 2021

Seeing Shades of Color: “You’re pretty, for a Black girl.” "I’m not this dark all the time, just during the summer.” These and other expressions reflect one of the painful legacies of slavery, the battle of colorism, which centers light skin versus dark skin across the spectrum of modern society. Join us for the third conversation in this year long series to discuss the origins, impact, and challenges of dealing with colorism.

This program is virtual and will be held online via ZOOM. Participants will be emailed a ZOOM link prior to the start of the program.
