The year-long Charleston Trident Fishing Tournament is held annually from November 1-October 31 and recognizes outstanding saltwater and freshwater catches made in the tri-county area. Each year, winners receive plaques acknowledging their catches. The competition is restricted to the waters of Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester Counties, and boats leaving from and returning to the waters between the South Santee and South Edisto Rivers.
