Featuring the Charleston Symphony with Philip Lima and local African American Artists

Phil LimaJoin us for an unforgettable evening at McLeod Plantation Historic Site! Guests will enjoy drinks, hors d'oeuvres, and a performance from the Charleston Symphony and baritone Philip Lima. Lima has garnered critical acclaim for his performances on both concert and operatic stages: “His singing was glorious” (The Boston Globe) – “vibrant baritone and a commanding presence” (Cleveland The Plain Dealer) – “keen musicianship along with total dramatic intention.” (Opera News Online).

This event is a fundraiser in support of the Charleston County Parks Foundation’s Cultural History Fund. This fund aids cultural and historical research, preservation, interpretation, and education for diverse audiences with an emphasis on underrepresented histories at this site and throughout Charleston County Parks.

About the Cultural History Fund

The Cultural History Fund supports the Charleston County Park & Recreation Commission's cultural and historical research, preservation, interpretation, and education for diverse audiences with an emphasis on underrepresented histories throughout Charleston County Parks. The fund is currently focusing on cultural and historical education opportunities that foster a more equitable society, by expressing a unified narrative of African American history, culture, heritage and art at McLeod Plantation Historic Site.
