Johns Island, Baptist Hill, & McClellanville
Odyssey introduces kids to the summer camp experience and builds physical, social, and decision-making skills during recreational fun. Kids participate in a wide variety of challenging, age-appropriate activities including swimming, field trips, crafts, sports, and games. Our programs are designed with the philosophy that physical and emotional safety is the base upon which fun and education can be achieved.
Odyssey is offered in collaboration with the Charleston County School District’s EPIC Camps. EPIC provides academic activities and support to students Monday-Thursday from 8 a.m.-12 p.m., while Odyssey balances that with recreation, swim instruction, and field trips Monday-Thursday from 12-6 p.m. and all day Fridays. In order to receive this combined, full-day program, students must register for both camps separately.
Our staff is a carefully selected group of highly qualified individuals who are passionate about working with youth in a camp environment. Staff members are trained to assist in the development of self-confidence, cooperation, personal growth, and environmental awareness.
Our Counselor Assistant Program, for ages 13-17, offers teens an opportunity to gain work experience and leadership skills under the close supervision of Odyssey staff. Assistants work alongside counselors to help implement daily activities and mentor younger campers. Details and application coming soon.
We reserve the right to use photos or videos taken of visitors while they are at Charleston County Park & Recreation Commission facilities or events for publicity purposes. Park fees, operating schedules, and hours are subject to change without notice.
