Our camps are ideal venues for adventurous youth to learn more about themselves, while simultaneously creating a personal connection with the environment through experience, education, and fun. Programs are designed to challenge, entertain, and inspire youth through a wide array of activities and outdoor adventures that develop physical, social, and decision-making skills. Camps also promote self-confidence and environmental awareness, with a commitment to providing a positive, supportive, and fun camp experience for you and your child.

Partygoers will have a blast with the cool party packages offered at Whirlin’ Waters Adventure Water Park, Splash Island Waterpark, Splash Zone Waterpark, or the Climbing Wall.

Community Education programs are for everyone. Charleston County Community Education is jointly sponsored by the Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission and the Charleston County School District.

Our Outdoor Adventure Program provides a wide range of non-traditional outdoor adventure recreation, through which participants learn about themselves and the natural world around them. Whether you’re seeking serious relaxation and recreation, or looking for professional skill development, you can be assured that our programs are conducted with safety and fun in mind. What could be better than spending your days exploring your county parks, learning about the natural world, and having some really cool fun at one of our youth or camp programs?

Charleston County Parks is pleased to offer exciting program opportunities for Scouts that meet badge and special project requirements. Troop leaders can also arrange a customized program at any county park.

Environmental Education and Social Studies Education staff offers Standards-Based Education programs at nearly all of your county parks. Through the Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission, your students will operate a seine net, fan rice in a fanner basket, or otherwise be engaged in learning by doing.

Mission: To create a comprehensive Charleston County water safety resource, encompassing Charleston County’s swim lessons, aquatic safety programs, lifeguarded swim areas and water safety information, with the ultimate goal of encouraging every Charleston County resident to develop their swimming skills.
