Dog Parks

James Island, Palmetto Islands, & Wannamaker County Parks

A visit to one of our off-leash dog parks is a special treat for everyone, not just your pups. With acres to run and play, taking your best friends along for fresh air and exercise is good for you and as easy as a walk in the park!  Dog parks are located within James Island County Park, North Charleston Wannamaker County park, and Mt. Pleasant Palmetto Islands County Park.

Features

  • Drinking water for dogs and handlers
  • Lake access for dogs (JICP only)
  • Bag stations and collection cans
  • Water hoses for cleaning and cooling off
  • Entry and exit gates

Parks Are for People, Pets, and Wildlife

Pet owners must know the rules and the risks to ensure their loyal companions enjoy the park, stay safe, allow for wildlife, and respect the rights of others. This is a special place set aside just for pet owners and their four legged buddies.  Help keep it healthy and hospitable by encouraging others through your good example.

While the off-leash area will not be staffed with an attendant on-site, park staff will periodically patrol the designated area.  Access to the dog park may be restricted during select special events.
