Science Safari
The adventure begins as soon as you set foot in the park. Once on the trail, learn about texture from trees, find color in the leaves, and identify scents floating on the breeze. As you may have guessed, we will use our senses to explore nature on our science safari.
Seashore Explorers
Do you know that amazing things occur where land meets the sea? In this place, an explorer may find an animal with eyes on its arms or blue blood in its body. Look for these animals and many more during our hands-on investigation of the seashore.
Art in the Park
Let nature inspire your little Leonardos and Picassos as they create art in the park. We provide all of the materials, a brief natural history lesson about the surrounding environment, and tips for creating masterpieces in the great outdoors.
Nature Detectives
Are your campers constantly bringing things in from outside and asking, "What is this?" They can discover the answers by becoming nature detectives. We bring items from our nature center and help participants look for clues that reveal answers to some common natural mysteries.
Fast Fliers - A Dragonfly Party
Did you know that one of the state's most recognizable and exciting animals is also one of the fastest flying insects in the world? Learn the parts of an insect and participate in activities that demonstrate the life cycle and feeding habits of dragonflies.
A Journey Through the Seasons
Why do leaves fall from trees in autumn? How do animals stay warm in winter? Explore seasonal change as we travel through a calendar year of plant and animal behavior and development.
Flower Friends: Bees & Their Buddies
While they are buzzing here and flying there, pollinators are doing amazing work in gardens, fields, and orchards. Learn about the many ways we depend on bees, bats, and other flower friends in this exciting program.
