Junior Lifeguard Program (ages 10-16) has been designed to educate participants who are already comfortable with their swimming ability in the area of water safety. The program material consists of 50% ocean proofing, 15% physical training, 15% marine safety, 10% first aid skills, and 10% competition. The program uses both a classroom atmosphere and outside activities to teach the importance of safety while around any body of water. Juniors are educated on how to prevent injury, respond safely to an emergency, and are provided an opportunity to explore their personal interests and goals in lifeguarding.
No one will be allowed to participate without successfully completing the swim test. |

Returning participants will not be required to take the pre-test unless enrolled in the Advanced session. Call 762-8049 for Advanced Junior Lifeguard requirements. |
