Due to the heavy erosion caused by Hurricane Irene, Folly Beach County Park remains closed to the general public. Rentals of the Pelican Watch Shelter will continue through July 31, but rental attendees will be restricted to the shelter area and beach in close proximity to the shelter.
Security is required for combo rentals of 100 or more. Any group planning on having bands, loudspeakers, or other amplified sounds (including DJ’s) must get approval from the Park Management. Night rentals and combination rentals of more than 99 people require security. The City of Folly Beach requires two officers for each night rental or the evening portion of a combination rental exceeding 99 people and one additional officer is required for each additional 100 people. This is an additional charge above the shelter rental fee of $25 per hour per officer, for a minimum of five hours, to the customer.
Due to limited parking at Folly Beach County Park, visitors are encouraged to arrive early, carpool when possible, and expect delays when entering the park. Groups utilizing the Pelican Watch Shelter are not permitted to bypass the line and must follow all traffic laws and direction from park management. |
