Charleston County Park & Recreation Commission is offering yet another exciting Summer Entertainment Series at both James Island County Park and North Charleston Wannamaker County Park.  The series is designed to give kids a fun-filled opportunity to visit our parks and enjoy some great entertainment. Performances will feature a wide variety of top-notch acts from South Carolina, Georgia, and North Carolina that are sure to entertain everyone.

Summer Schedule
All shows begin at 10:00am. No reserved seating.

James Island County Park

Wednesday, June 12
Capoeira of Charleston - Capoeira is a blend of martial arts, game, and dance originating in Brazil. This show is both dynamic and energetic, and is set to traditional music featuring authentic Brazilian songs and instruments. 

Wednesday, June 19
Hungry Monk Music - The Hungry Monks will perform an array of kids' music that will allow all to participate. 

Wednesday, June 26
Becky’s Box of Puppets - Becky and her box of puppets are sure to entertain all with her show! 

Tuesday, July 2
De Gullah Singers - Come learn about Charleston's rich African history as we listen to songs and stories by De Gullah Singers from Wadmalaw Island.

Wednesday, July 10
Birds of Prey - This presentation will highlight South Carolina birds, especially those that are found in the Lowcountry.

Wednesday, July 17
Sewee Environmental Education Center - This exciting presentation about snakes, turtles, and alligators that live in the Lowcountry will be fun for your entire group. 

Wednesday, July 24
Magic by Chaz - Chaz will join us from North Carolina with his magic show that will mystify all. 

Wednesday, July 31
Reptiles - The City of Charleston joins us for this thrilling show about reptiles found in the Lowcountry. 

Wednesday, August 7
Sam’s Path Petting Zoo - Enjoy a fun-filled show starring a kangaroo and other exotic animals. 
North Charleston Wannamaker County Park
Thursday, June 13

  • $5 /$4 CCR*
  • Chaperone/Parent: Free
  • Ages 2 & Under: Free
  • Groups: Register early to receive our discounted rate for 10 or more ($3/person).

*Charleston County residents contribute to the development of our county park system through property taxes, and a discounted rate is available to them.

Special Needs: Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to use CCPRC facilities and to register for programs. Reasonable accommodations will be made on an individual basis. Please contact our office to discuss any accommodations needed at least two weeks prior to your program.
